Why it never asks for your password
Many follower apps ask you to sign in with your username and password. That is where the risk is: once your credentials sit on someone else's server, you have no control over who keeps them, for how long or why. This script works differently. It runs inside your browser and organizes the information you already have in plain view on your own profile, the same data you would see scrolling through your list by hand. There is no password form because nothing leaves your device.
An unfollow can only be detected by comparing two moments
No method can tell you who left last month if nobody was measuring back then. Detecting an unfollow always means comparing two snapshots: your list today against your list at another point in time. That is why the first time you run the script you get your starting point, not a list of drop-offs, and the differences show up from the second check onward. Know this before you buy: if you expected a history of the last six months, no one who starts measuring today can get one. What you do get from day one is a record of your own that grows with every check.
What the script does not do
Here is where the limits are. It does not send real-time alerts: you see the result when you run it, so checking is up to you. It also does not show information that is not already on your own screen, so whatever happens inside other people's accounts is out of reach. And it is not an analytics dashboard for reach, posting times and growth. It answers one question, who left, and stops there.
